NH Senator Hosmer Visits Pike Road Rehabilitation Project

Senator Andrew Hosmer toured Pike Industries’ Rt 127 project in Salisbury, NH today. Route 127 is the main route between Salisbury and Franklin. This 3.2 mile project is fully funded by the 4.2 cent increase in the road toll user fee. It includes 17,000 cubic yards of excavation and almost 12,000 tons of new pavement. Various drainage improvements have also been installed. The project includes some test sections where new construction techniques will be monitored in the future to verify performance.

The project employs over a dozen Pike workers on site and many more indirectly at the quarry and hot mix asphalt plant. Over 30 independent truck drivers will be hauling aggregates and hot mix to the project as well as hauling excavation away. Pike will pave the base course prior to winter and will be putting the surface on the project in 2015.
